Here is a short video demonstration you can look at if you are in a hurry.

In addition, the steps are broken down below.

I am the salt of the earth I am the Light of the World Bible Crafts steps

So here are the simple steps to putting your Salt and Light Bible craft together.

Step 1.

Print and cut out your salt and light bible craft circles

Of course, it is always good to do this in advance if you are planning to use your bible craft for Sunday school or other children’s ministry.

It will also help to draw a line at the back of each circle in the center to mark where children will match the circles when sticking them together

Step 2.

Color symbols as desired if using the black and white template.

Step 3.

Stick the circles together back to back. Match the lines you have drawn. Your salt and light circles should be one piece and ready for the next step.

Step 4.

Take one of the pringles tin covers and pour the salt into the cover.  About 1 teaspoon will do. In addition, apply silicon glue around the rim of the cover. As demonstrated below.

Step 5.

Carefully place the circle onto the cover with the salt print facing down. And allow drying.  Your Salt and Light craft should look like this right now.

Step 6.

Take the other pringles tin cover and pour the shimmering sequins into the cover, a teaspoon or so should do. Then apply silicon glue around the rim of the cover. As demonstrated previously.

Step 7

Carefully place the circle onto the cover this time with the light side facing down. Your Salt and Light Bible Verse craft is now done!

Step 8

Allow drying for a moment. Your children are all set to have some fun while remembering that they are salt and light.

Yep, it’s done and it’s fun!

Salt and light Challenge for children

Don’t Leave Just Yet!

Before you go I want to encourage you to challenge those little ones you teach to be salt and light as they go through their daily lives. Here are just a few ways they can be salt and light.

1. Encourage a friend when they are down

Children often feel discouraged because of different situations. Oftentimes, my son gives stories of children in his class that were down, I use those opportunities to help him learn to be salt and light.  Emphasizing that when he encourages his friends he is being salt and light. Proverbs said “kind words are like honey.”, thus adding flavor to those they are spoken to.

You can too give it a try!

2. Encourage children to forgive their siblings, friends, etc.

Forgiveness is a critical part of life that when practiced can lead to a much better relationship with others. Not just that’s a requirement from our Heavenly Father.

3. Encourage children to be peer helpers

All children can be peer helpers in one way or another. Use your children’s strength and natural God-given abilities to help their peers as they grow. Teach them how to look for opportunities to help. Example – My son came home and mentioned a child who kept asking him for his eraser borrowed, then he asked if he could carry an eraser for the child. Of course, I didn’t hesitate and it is a simple way to be salt and light, sharing with others around that need help.

4. Encourage children to speak kind and uplifting words to others

This is another simple way to encourage children to be salt and light by the words they say to others and by their responses to words that are spoken to them. It may include you teaching them the right way to respond especially to tricky situations.

5. Encourage children to share the gospel with their friends

This is of course the ultimate goal of being salt and light, that children share their faith in Christ as they grow to know Him more. Yep, there are lots of opportunities that will come up when they can. As you listen to your children when they recount their daily activities look for opportunities where they can consider sharing God’s love.

As you speak to your children also let them know that being salt and light is not always easy. But know that God is with them and as they grow to love the Lord Jesus more He will strengthen them and give them the grace to shine.

I hope you enjoy trying this craft and teaching the children around you to be salt and light.
